Internet Archive Invades Flickr

The Internet Archive’s Flickr collection, Internet Archive Book Images, now has 2.6 million copyright-free images of image scans from books published 1500–1922. The archive plans on posting millions more.

The images above and below are from the 1919 book, The people’s war book; history, cyclopaedia and chronology of the great world war (no captions provided), found via a “world war one” search. We made a gallery, the “WWI: Internet Archive”, of a dozen images from the collection.

While at Flickr we did a site-wide “world war one” search. Here’s a couple choice images from the results:
